We should provide an easy way for people to get started with unfamiliar tech. We did a limited version of this for the jam (https://github.com/HandmadeNetwork/jam_templates) but we should do it bigger and better in a way that is integrated with the site.
Ultimately, downloading content from a GitHub repo is a pain. It would be nicer to offer a variety of template options on the website in a way that helps people make an informed decision and can simply give them a .zip with everything they need.
It may be possible to make a matrix of language / library choices to some extent. Not sure. It seems to me (Ben) like we might have a better time providing more opinionated templates and then tagging them by language, framework, relative ease of use, etc. and building a UI around that.
Screenshots would be cool.
Every template should have build scripts for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
